The best present we ever got Tera was a tether ball court. She literally spends hours playing on it... alone! She doesn't even care if anyone plays with her, she just practices hitting the ball for hours each day. She will often times come home from school, or church, or errands and go straight into the backyard to assume her tether ball hitting. Anytime we don't know where she is, we can assume she's in the backyard hitting the ball! It cracks us up! I will sometimes go back there and play a game with her and she often beats me. She says it is because she is a "hardy." That's what they call people who are good at tether ball at school. During Christmas break she took a week off of her tether ball practicing while we were in Utah on vacation. When we returned she went right back to playing and was very concerned that she would not be as good when she went back to school. She was worried that others had practiced the whole break and her skills would be rusty! She didn't want to be an "easy." I assured her she would be fine after she promptly beat me! I wish she was a little more worried about her educational skills being rusty after the break, but oh well!Such are the priorities of a 3rd grader!
