Worth remembering...

Mazzi has started to chat quite a bit. Nothing melts my heart like when she gets right up next to my face, looks into my eyes, and starts talking away. The other day I had the funniest conversation with her while I was giving her a bath.

Mom: "Oh no Mazzi, you got a scratch on your face. How'd you get it?"
Mazzi: "From Grandma"
Mom: "Grandma wouldn't scratch you! How'd you get it?"
Mazzi: "From Papa."
Mom: "Papa didn't scratch you, did you get it from Yoda?" (our cat)
Mazzi: "Yeah, Yoda scratch me."
Mom: "Oh, were you being mean to him?"
Mazzi: "Yeah, I be mean to Yoda."

And that story I can actually believe.

This conversation also took place while giving Mazzi a bath.
Mom: "Mazzi, what does Mommy have in her tummy?"
Mazzi: "A baby."
Mom: "Yes. What does Mazzi have in her tummy?"
Mazzi: "Umm... food, and a dinosaur."

Her randomness cracks me up!

The other night her friend Lyric was over playing with her family. When they were getting into their car Mazzi really wanted to get in their car with them. She turned and with a big pouty face she said to me "I not going to your house." She didn't want to be home with her Mommy. "I go to Lu Lu's house." She threw a fit for several minutes after she realized this wasn't going to happen. She is one head strong girl!

The other night, I was exhausted so decided to go to sleep and see if the kids would get themselves in bed. Ashton and Tera did a good job brushing their teeth and putting on pajamas, and even cleaning up a little bit. Mazzi however, refused. Ashton decided to make it his responsibility to get her into bed. It was so sweet hearing him try to coax her into making good choices. He finally got her to go potty and brush her teeth. She kept running and around the house and he was so patient with her. He went with her to go get a drink of water and then laid down with her and sang her twinkle twinkle little star. I was so proud of him. He is a good big brother.

When Ashton was getting ready for school he put on shorts that were too small for him. I told him he needed to take them off and we needed to get rid of them because they were too small.  He said, "Don't get rid of them, save them for Ashton Jr." I said, "Ashton, we don't know if we are having a boy or a girl." He said, "Mom, you and I BOTH know you're having a boy" (Wishful thinking)

Nerd Day

The kids were very excited to dress up for nerd day. I think they made pretty adorable nerds. They even wrote "Nerd notebook" on their little pocketbooks. They make me laugh!
