It was a great experience, except for the fact that I didn't consider the fact that Tera wasn't home and would cry once she realized she wasn't able to see the butterfly set free. I felt so bad that I spent $25.00 ordering our own butterfly garden so that she could experience the whole thing. Unfortunately 3 of the 5 caterpillars died before we got them out of the mail box. Then, we brought them with us to Redding while we are were on a trip and they dropped from the Tupperware and were no longer hanging, so after a week we assumed they were dead. We left their cage at Nanas when we went home. Then, the day after we got home we got a call from Nana saying the chrysalis had turned into a butterfly. So, Nana let the butterflies go, and Tera once again missed out :( But Nana sent us pictures. Hopefully Tera can wait another year to do it in second grade!
