Rockaway Beach- Family Reunion

Every other year in August my extended family, the Scrimshers, meet at Rockaway beach on the Oregon coast for a family reunion. We had such a great, relaxing time there. We were surrounded by wonderful people, beautiful scenery and 70 degree weather. It doesn't get any better than that!! Matt was even able to be there with us for four days!

Nana and Tera running on the beach near Twin Rocks.

My sister Sierra, her hubby, Bryce and their beautiful baby Macie!
My Grandparents with all their great-grand kids. Mazzi was not happy about taking this picture.
The Smith Family- everyone was able to be there this year- even my Grandma Bickle was able to join us.

My grandparents and all the grandkids.
Tera didn't care that the crab was dead- she was still excited she "caught it"I was so happy that I finally got to meet little Brody, my brother and his wife's baby. He is such a sweet, snuggly little guy. I had to fight for any time to hold him! Tera and Ashton built this elaborate sand castle kingdom. I still don't know how much of it they built and how much of it was there when we arrived, but they spent hours here each day.
Our family went to the tide pools. We didn't see many creatures, but this is always one of my favorite things because it is so beautiful with the big rocks and the green on the rocks. And Mazzi is just as breathtaking to me as the scenery.... love this little cutie. Who happened to be with quite And Mazzi is just as breathtaking to me as the scenery. And Mazzi is just as breathtaking to me as the scenery.... love this little cutie. However, she was quite the stinker the whole time we were at the family reunion. She didnt' want any one to look at her or touch her and had her pouty lips the whole five days we were there.
I was disappointing I was disappointed no one got to know the sweet, feisty, fun little girl we know and love.
Since the kids missed a whole week of school while we were at the reunion, Tera's teacher gave her the stuffed animal, Gnomeo to take with her on the trip. Each day Tera would write down what she did with Gnoemo each day. She would write things like "Gnomeo is staring at me. This day we took him to the tide pools with us so we could get a picture.

Tera enjoyed pretending to be a puppy on the beach and letting Mazzi take her for a walk.My grandma brought sea shells from Tonga (where her and Grandpa served a mission) with her to the beach to scatter as they walked so the kids could find sea shells. They came back with a bucketful of perfect seashells, including this sand dollar. Tera later said her favorite part of the trip was finding sea shells.

The water was frigid cold. I got in one time for about a 1/2 hour (it took that long to turn numb) but my mom still convinced Tera and Ashton to let her take them out boogie borading and in the raft. They had a good time, but also didn't last very long. They looked so cute in the wet suits. Mazzi even wore one. It was about 5 sizes too big, but she felt cool wearing it.Right after boogie boarding and rafting in the ocean they jumped in the hot tub to warm up. Mazzi felt romantic in their and was covering Ashton with smooches.
Can't wait till 2013!!
